Co-Advisor:  John Grozik
For the past 30 years John Grozik has worked in a variety of instructional media related positions at private and public universities. Mr. Grozik is currently Assistant Director of the Instructional Media Services Department, Information & Media Technologies Division at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Instructional Media Services provides video and multimedia production, multimedia classroom support, AV equipment distribution, TV engineering , and distance education support services for a campus of more than 25,000 students.

As Director of Media at the University of California, Davis, CA, Mr. Grozik reorganized an instructional media department and staff of 47 full-time and 25 part-time employees. The department was responsible for the design, development, production, evaluation and utilization of a wide range of media including video, print, photography, teleconferencing (ITFS and satellite), multi-media presentations, computer assisted instruction, videodiscs and computer graphics.

As Director of Instructional Media at Marquette University in Milwaukee, John directed the activities of a staff of media professionals, designed classroom and production facilities, specified equipment, evaluated venders and supervised installation of a wide range of media related facilities.

Mr. Grozik's professional experience has included producing and directing instructional television programs for Indiana University's state-wide higher educational telecommunications network. He has produced a series of 39 interactive videodiscs on basic math, managed a satellite teleconference center and organized a nationwide network of video system dealers.

Additional professional activities have include current President of Beacon Software, Inc., a media software development firm, and owner of Grozik Associates, a worldwide media communications and consulting firm. Past projects include media technology design consulting for the Holocaust Museum, St. Louis, MO.; AT&T's COMDEX trade show exhibit; the Minnetrista Cultural Center, Muncie, Indiana; Discover Milwaukee public information center, and numerous "blue sky" design sessions for new or proposed museums and exhibit spaces.

Mr. Grozik has published numerous media related articles in trade publications, presented a wide variety of futures oriented seminars, and regularly speaks at meetings and conventions on the impact of emerging communications technologies on society. He is a past President and co-founder of the Milwaukee chapter of the International Interactive Communications Society (IICS), Milwaukee Chapter, and a co-founder of the Milwaukee chapter of the International Television Association (ITVA). His currently serving on the advisory board of the Milwaukee Area Technical College's Visual Communications Department.

He holds a Master of Arts in Mass Communications from Marquette University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
