I'm a sophomore here at UWM, after this first fall semester I will be an early
junior. I am double-majoring in Broadcast Journalism and Business Marketing.
I transferred here from Rochester, Minnesota and I came to UWM because it
wasn't too expensive and the Journalism program here has way more to offer than
back home. I work as a bartender/waitress at Major Goolsby's, so stop in for a
burger sometime!
My TV aspirations came senior year of high school when we had to think about
choosing majors and Television Production was the class I enjoyed the most.
After finalizing my decision, during senior year, I interned for the two local
TV stations at home, KTTC(NBC)/Fox47 (FOX) and KAAL(ABC).
During my last year, I was able to take some college classes at the community
college, so after graduation, I continued my post-secondary education there.
At Rochester Community and Technical College, I received the opportunity to be
one of only two students to work on the TV news program they just began called
UCR Spectrum. I was a reporter and editor for the show.
I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the leaders this year. I love all
aspects of broadcasting and I know I can bring a lot to the Broadcasting Club.
I'll work hard both on and off screen to bring a great show to you!
I'm hoping to graduate by May 2006 and my ultimate dream job would be to be a
reporter/anchor for an Entertainment news show or to host my own show.
